My name is Nicholas Kester. I have been a Port Authority Police Officer since 1986. When the first attack on the Trade Center happened in 1993, I had 7 years on the job. When 9-11 2001 happened, I had 15. Like others, I spent time at the devastated sites for the rescue and recovery of personnel.
As time progressed the site became known as the hole or pit. Living through this tragic piece of history at the site, experiencing the smell and transporting the remains of fallen victims with respect and dignity took its toll on everyone working there.
Now, 7 years later, the web site you are about to enter contains pictures that still rip Nick's heart and soul apart. All who were there have been affected and were changed forever emotionally.
The outpouring of support from people was overwhelming and reassuring - we knew we could get through it. We at OnSight Support Family and Friends are determined to extend this support to the Men and Women of our military, those who are now walking in the path of danger and death.
On Sight Support was born out of the grief and agony of 9/11.
This page is a memorial to those who died on 9/11. Most of the time we only visit memorials and have no way to respond. This memorial is dedicated to those who are walking in harm's way and gives us an opportunity to remember through action.
May we never forget that day, and may we do all we can to protect our troops
Who Are Now Walking In Harm's Way.
